I’ve been working on, designing, and inspecting homes for more than 20 years. It started with helping my dad build the house we grew up in. That turned into a lifetime of designing/renovating homes, helping family and friends with theirs, and eventually taking on larger projects for other people.
This blog is simply the place I write down what I’ve learned along the way. I’m not a big company or a design influencer. I’m a practical homeowner who still climbs ladders, crawls through attics, and gets frustrated when a “simple” repair turns into an all-day job. My goal is to share clear, no-nonsense advice that saves time, money, and headaches.
You’ll find seasonal checklists, step-by-step how-tos, honest talks about what works and what doesn’t, and the occasional story about a job that went sideways.
I try to do most of the work myself. When something is beyond my skill or the local codes require a licensed contractor, I hire a qualified professional to do the work safely and correctly. Safety and doing the job right matter more than pretending every task is a weekend DIY project.
